Department of Information Technology's Development Section

Services Description

The Department of Information Technology's (DIT) Software Development Section consists of a group of programmers. These programmers create applications and investigate new technologies, which enhance and expand the scope, sophistication, and performance of software development.

Each programmer brings virtually decades of programming experience legacy systems. The need to migrate off of legacy applications or databases in our enterprise arose from changes in business demands or technology challenges.

The changes were either to improve operation efficiency or to manage risk. Our legacy systems were straddled with the challenges of getting locked in proprietary owned and outdated technologies. As a result, we began migrating applications from the legacy systems to the latest platforms and architectures which also created opportunities for training, new skills and polish up current skills. We will be using technologies with a variety of databases including Oracle, SQL Server, Access, and XML formats.

Members of the Development Section include:

Nelson Billy, Programmer Analyst Supervisor

Royetta Woodie, Programmer Analyst Supervisor

Julia Dennison, System Application Programmer

Coralene Austin, Application Systems Programmer

Alex Yazzie, Web Developer
